Thea meaning
Thea is an international girl's name of Greek origin.
Goddess; Greek theā, feminine of theos, "god"
Thea comes from Greek theā, "goddess", the feminine of theos, "god", as both the Liddell-Scott-Jones lexicon and the Online Etymology Dictionary record. Homer uses theā for a goddess as opposed to a mortal woman, and the pair Demeter and Persephone were called simply "the two goddesses". Thea is also a short form of longer names such as Dorothea, "gift of God", and Theodora. The Greek Titan Theia, mother of the sun and moon, has a closely related name. Thea is said THEE-uh, and its meaning is the same as Devi.
