We haven't confirmed a dictionary meaning for the name itself. The meaning above is how families commonly use it.
Arbaaz (ارباز) is a boy's name used by Indian and Pakistani Muslim families; a well-known bearer is the actor and producer Arbaaz Khan. Name lists usually give it as "eagle" or "falcon", sometimes as "brave". We could not find arbāz in Steingass's Persian dictionary or in Platts' Urdu dictionary. The ending does match the Persian bāz, which Steingass defines as a falcon, and that is probably the source of the popular meaning, but how the opening ar- fits is unexplained. So the meaning here comes from usage rather than from a dictionary entry.
