Rasool meaning
Rasool (رسول) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
A messenger; one sent with a message; an apostle of God
Also used to mean: prophet
Rasool (رسول) is the Arabic rasūl, from arsala, "to send". Lane's lexicon defines it as one who carries a message, a messenger sent by another, and notes its frequent use for an apostle of God and, with the article, for the Prophet Muhammad in particular. The Quran's verse "Muhammad is the Messenger of God" (48:29) uses it in that sense. Name lists give Rasool as "messenger". In India the name is used in compounds such as Ghulam Rasool, "servant of the Prophet", and on its own.
