Rashid meaning
Rashid (راشد) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
One who follows the right way; rightly guided
Rashid (راشد) is the Arabic rāshid, from the root r-sh-d. Lane explains the root as taking or following a right way or course, whether on a road or in an affair, and especially in religious belief; its noun rushd also means the years of discretion, when a person can choose the right course alone. The first four caliphs are known as al-khulafāʾ al-rāshidūn, "the rightly guided caliphs", and the Quran calls true believers al-rāshidūn (49:7). Name lists give Rashid as "rightly guided", matching the dictionary. The closely related Rashīd (رشید), with the same sense, is the form in the name of the Abbasid caliph Hārūn al-Rashīd and is often spelled the same way in English.
