Ubaid meaning
Ubaid (عبید) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Little servant; diminutive of ʿabd, servant (of God)
Also used to mean: servant of God, devotee
Ubaid (عبید) is the Arabic ʿubayd, which Lane's lexicon gives as the diminutive of ʿabd, "servant, slave", the word used in names such as Abdullah, "servant of God". The diminutive adds humility and affection, "little servant", and the name is usually understood as a short form of Ubaidullah, "humble servant of God". Lane adds that, as a proper name, it was once explained as "son of the desert". Name lists give "servant of God" or "devotee".
