Jibreel meaning
Jibreel (جبریل) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic form of the angel Gabriel origin (Urdu usage).
The archangel Gabriel; Hebrew Gavriel, 'man of God'
Also used to mean: God is my strength
Jibreel (جبریل) is Jibrīl, the Quranic name of the archangel Gabriel, who brought the revelation to the Prophet: "whoever is an enemy to Jibrīl, it is he who brought it down upon your heart" (2:97). Lane's lexicon lists several old spellings, notes that Jibrīl is the most common, and says the name is probably foreign, explained as made of words meaning "servant" and "God". Strong's Concordance gives the Hebrew Gabriy'el as "man of God", and name lists often say "God is my strength". Indian families also write it Jibrail.
