Ghulam meaning
Ghulam (غلام) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu and Persian usage).
A boy, youth or young man; also a servant or slave
Ghulam (غلام) is the Arabic word ghulām, from the root gh-l-m. Lane's lexicon gives its first sense as a boy or young man, anywhere from a newborn son to a youth whose moustache is just growing, and then a male slave or hired servant. In the Quran the angels give Zakariyya the good news of a ghulām named Yahya (19:7). In India and Pakistan Ghulam is mostly the first half of a devotional compound such as Ghulam Nabi ("servant of the Prophet") or Ghulam Rasool, which is why name lists give "servant". It is also used on its own.
