Nisar meaning
Nisar (نثار) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
An offering or sacrifice; devoted (Urdu); scattering (Arabic)
Also used to mean: devotion
Nisar (نثار) comes from Arabic nithār, from nathara, "to scatter". Lane describes nithār as the act of scattering walnuts, almonds, sugar or money among people on festive occasions. In Urdu the word gained a further sense: Platts gives nisār as an offering, a present or a sacrifice, and nisār karnā as "to sacrifice or devote (oneself)" to or for someone. Name lists give Nisar as "sacrifice" or "devotion", which is the Urdu sense. The cricketer Mohammad Nisar opened the bowling for India in its first Test match, played at Lord's in 1932.
