Sajid meaning
Sajid (ساجد) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
One who bows down in worship, with forehead to the ground
Sajid (ساجد) is the Arabic sājid, "one who prostrates", the active participle of sajada, "he bowed down". Lane describes the act as bowing or lowering the head and, in prayer, as kneeling, placing the palms on the ground and then setting the nose and forehead down; he also records words for the small prayer mat and for the mark that prostration leaves on the forehead. The Quran praises the person who worships through the night, sājidan, "prostrating", and standing (39:9). The same root gives masjid, "place of prostration", the Arabic word for a mosque. Name lists give Sajid as "worshipper" or "one who prostrates to God", matching the dictionary.
