Isa meaning
Isa (عیسیٰ) is a Muslim and international boy's name of Arabic form of the name of Jesus origin (Urdu usage).
The prophet Jesus, son of Maryam; from Hebrew Yeshua, 'the LORD saves'
Also used to mean: God is salvation
Isa (عیسیٰ) is ʿĪsā, the name the Quran gives to Jesus, honoured in Islam as a prophet and the Messiah born of Maryam. The angels announce him as "the Messiah, ʿĪsā son of Maryam" (3:45), and a whole surah is named after his mother. The name goes back through Greek Iēsous to Hebrew Yehoshua, which Strong's Concordance explains as "Jehovah-saved", so name lists give "God is salvation". Indian Muslim families spell it Isa or Eesa, and it is also part of names like Isa Khan, the 16th-century noble whose tomb stands in Delhi.
