Moiz meaning
Moiz (معز) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
One who gives might or honour; al-Muʿizz, the Bestower of Honour
Also used to mean: one who honours, mighty
Moiz (معز) is the Arabic muʿizz, "one who gives might or honour", from ʿizz. Lane's lexicon defines ʿizz as might, power or strength, and as high rank, nobility and glory, and explains al-Muʿizz, as a name of God, as he who gives ʿizz to whomever he wills of his servants. The Quran speaks of God honouring whom He wills in 3:26. Name lists give Moiz as "one who honours" or "mighty". A famous bearer was al-Muʿizz li-Din Allah, the Fatimid caliph in whose reign Cairo was founded in 969.
