Abdul meaning
Abdul (عبدل) is a Muslim and international boy's name of Arabic origin.
Servant of; the opening of names such as Abdul Rahman
Also used to mean: servant of God
Abdul (عبدل) is the Arabic ʿabd al-, "servant of the". In Arabic it is the first half of a compound that names God by one of His attributes: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, "servant of the Most Merciful", ʿAbd al-Karīm, "servant of the Most Generous", and so on. Lane's lexicon defines ʿabd as a bondman and, applied to any human being, a servant or worshipper of God. In India Abdul is also used on its own as a given name, or written separately before the second part, as in A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the eleventh President of India.
