Ishaq meaning
Ishaq (اسحاق) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic form of Hebrew Yitschaq origin (Urdu usage).
The prophet Isaac, son of Ibrahim; Hebrew 'laughter'
Ishaq (اسحاق) is Isḥāq, the Quranic name of the prophet Isaac, son of Ibrahim and Sarah. The Quran tells how Ibrahim was given "the good news of Isḥāq, a prophet among the righteous" (37:112), and how Sarah laughed at the news in her old age. The name comes from Hebrew Yitschaq, which Strong's Concordance explains as "laughter", from a verb meaning to laugh, and that is the meaning name lists give. Indian Muslim families use Ishaq and also the spelling Ishaque.
