Ishir meaning
Ishir (इषिर) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Refreshing, fresh; flourishing; vigorous, active, quick; a name of Agni
Also used to mean: Agni, the fire god
Ishir (इषिर) is the Ṛgvedic adjective iṣira, which Monier-Williams gives as refreshing and fresh, flourishing, and vigorous, active or quick; the old lexicons also record it as a name of Agni, the god of fire. He compares it with the Greek word hieros. Name lists offer a spread of meanings, from "strong" and "Agni", which fit the dictionary, to "peace" and "wealthy", which we could not find in any source. It is a short name with a genuinely Vedic pedigree.
