Rathin meaning
Rathin (रथिन) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Riding in a chariot; a charioteer, a chariot-warrior
Also used to mean: celestial
Rathin (रथिन) is Sanskrit rathin, from ratha, "chariot". Monier-Williams gives it as possessing or riding in a chariot and fighting from a war-chariot, and as a noun a charioteer or chariot-warrior, a word the Ṛgveda and Mahābhārata use for heroes of the battlefield. Some name lists give "celestial"; that sense is not in the dictionary and seems to be modern. The name is best known in Bengal, where it is pronounced Rothin, and Rathindra is a fuller form, as in Rathindranath Tagore.
