Subhranshu meaning
Subhranshu (शुभ्रांशु) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Odia and Bengali usage).
'white-rayed', the moon; also camphor
Also used to mean: moonlight
Subhranshu (शुभ्रांशु) joins Sanskrit śubhra, "radiant, white", with aṃśu, "a ray of light". Monier-Williams gives śubhrāṃśu as the same as śubhrabhānu, "white-rayed", a poetic name for the moon, and also as a word for camphor. Name lists give "moon" or "moonlight", which fit the dictionary; a few give "radiant sun", which does not. It is used mainly in Odisha and Bengal, often spelled Subhransu, and belongs with Sudhanshu and Himanshu among the many Indian names for the moon.
