Subhadeep meaning
Subhadeep (शुभदीप) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin (Bengali usage).
Auspicious light (śubha 'bright, auspicious' + dīpa 'a light, lamp')
Also used to mean: good light
Subhadeep (शुभदीप) joins Sanskrit śubha, "bright, beautiful, auspicious", with dīpa, "a light, lamp, lantern", the lamp lit at every Hindu ceremony. The name therefore means an auspicious light or a bright lamp, and name lists give "auspicious light" or "good light". The compound has no entry of its own in Monier-Williams, but both parts are well recorded. It is used mainly in Bengal, where it is pronounced SHU-bho-deep and often spelled Subhodeep or Shubhadeep.
