Prakash meaning
Prakash (प्रकाश) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Light, brightness, splendour; visible, famous
Prakash (प्रकाश) is the Sanskrit prakāśa. As an adjective Monier-Williams gives it as visible, shining and bright, then clear, manifest and public, and finally famous or celebrated. As a noun it means clearness, brightness, splendour and light, and by extension the display or spread of something, and fame and renown. Because light makes things plain, prakāśa also means an explanation, and many commentaries carry it at the end of their titles. The adverb prakāśam means "openly", in front of everyone. Indian name lists give Prakash as "light" or "brightness", which matches the dictionary. Parkash is another spelling of the same name.
