Prahas meaning
Prahas (प्रहास) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
Loud laughter; splendour; a name of Śiva
Also used to mean: joy
Prahas (प्रहास) is the Sanskrit prahāsa, formed from pra- and hāsa, "laughter". Monier-Williams gives it first as "loud laughter, laughter", then as "display" and "splendour", used of bright colours, and also records it as a name of Shiva and of one of his attendants in the Mahābhārata. It can mean "irony" too, though that is not the sense parents intend. Name lists give "laughter", "joy" or "splendour", all close to the dictionary.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
