Raman meaning
Raman (रमण) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin, also used for girls in Punjab.
Pleasing, charming, delightful; a lover; a name of Kāma
Raman (रमण) is Sanskrit ramaṇa, from the verb ram, "to delight, to be glad", the same root as Rāma. Monier-Williams gives it as pleasing, charming, delightful, and as a noun a lover or husband, a name of Kāma, the god of love, and of Aruṇa, the charioteer of the Sun. Name lists agree on "pleasing" or "delightful". The physicist C. V. Raman, who won the Nobel Prize in 1930, and the sage Ramana Maharshi carried the name. In Punjab Raman is used for girls as well.
