Ramzan meaning
Ramzan (رمضان) is a Muslim boy's name of Arabic origin.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar
Also used to mean: holy month
Ramzan (رمضان) is the Urdu pronunciation of Ramaḍān, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the month of fasting. Lane's lexicon explains that the month was named from ramaḍ, intense heat, because when the old Arabs gave the months their names it fell in the season of burning heat. The Quran describes it as "the month of Ramadan in which the Quran was revealed" (2:185). Name lists give Ramzan as the holy month itself. It has traditionally been given to boys born during the month.
