Ramdas meaning
Ramdas (रामदास) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, रा, it is a Tula rashi name (Chitra nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Servant of Rāma; name of several historical men
Also used to mean: servant of rama, devotee of god
Ramdas (रामदास) joins Rāma with dāsa, "servant", and so means "servant of Rāma", a name of devotion. Monier-Williams records rāma-dāsa as the name of a minister of Akbar and of several authors. The best-known bearers are Samarth Ramdas, the seventeenth-century Marathi saint and author of the Dasbodh, and Swami Ramdas of Kerala. In Sikh tradition Guru Ram Das, the fourth Guru, founded the city of Amritsar. Ramadas is the usual southern spelling.
