Kanha meaning
Kanha (कान्हा) is a Hindu boy's name of Hindi origin (from Sanskrit). By its first sound, का, it is a Mithun rashi name (Mrigashira nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A name of Krishna
Also used to mean: young
Kanha (कान्हा) is a loving everyday name for Krishna. Platts' Hindustani dictionary records kāṅh as a name of Krishṇa, and traces the longer Kanhaiya through Prakrit to Sanskrit kṛṣṇa, which Monier-Williams gives as black or dark and as the name of the celebrated incarnation of Viṣṇu. Kanha is the form heard in many devotional songs about the child Krishna, and parents use it as a full name or a pet name. Name lists give it as Krishna, and some as "young"; that second sense is not in the dictionaries.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Krishna.
