Rudraksh meaning
Rudraksh (रुद्राक्ष) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
'Rudra-eyed': the rudrākṣa tree and its berry, used for rosaries
Also used to mean: eye of shiva, sacred bead
Rudraksh (रुद्राक्ष) is Sanskrit rudrākṣa, "Rudra-eyed", from Rudra, the storm god later identified with Shiva, and akṣa, "eye". Monier-Williams gives it as the Elaeocarpus tree or its berry, the wrinkled seed strung into the rosaries worn by devotees of Shiva, and also as a rosary itself. Name lists give "eye of Shiva", the literal sense of the word. Popular tradition says the first rudraksha trees grew from Shiva's tears. As a boy's name it is used across India.
