Chakrapani (चक्रपाणि) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
'discus-handed', a name of Vishnu

Chakrapani (चक्रपाणि) is Sanskrit cakra-pāṇi, from cakra, "wheel, discus", and pāṇi, "hand". Monier-Williams gives it as "discus-handed", a name of Viṣṇu, who carries the Sudarshana discus in one of his four hands. Baby-name lists give it as "one who holds the wheel" or Lord Vishnu, both in line with the dictionary. The dictionary also notes a medical author of the name: Chakrapani Datta, the eleventh-century Bengali commentator on Ayurvedic texts. The name is used across India and especially in the South.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Vishnu.
