Chandramouli meaning
Chandramouli (चंद्रमौलि) is a Hindu boy's name of Sanskrit origin.
'moon-crested', a name of Shiva
Also used to mean: lord shiva
Chandramouli (चंद्रमौलि) is Sanskrit candra-mauli, from candra, "moon", and mauli, "crest, crown of the head". Monier-Williams treats it as the same as candra-mukuṭa, "moon-crested", a name of Śiva, used by Kālidāsa in the Raghuvaṃśa and the Kumārasambhava and in the Bhāgavata Purāṇa. It pictures the crescent moon resting in Shiva's matted hair. Baby-name lists give the same meaning. The name is used in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, where several Shiva temples are named Chandramouleeswarar.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Shiva.
