Charanjit meaning
Charanjit (ਚਰਨਜੀਤ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin, used for both girls and boys.
Charan (feet, i.e. of the Guru or God) joined with jīt (victory)
Charanjit (ਚਰਨਜੀਤ) joins charan, feet, with jīt, victory. The Mahan Kosh gives charaṇ as a foot and also as conduct; in Sikh devotion the Guru's feet stand for humility and refuge, as in the phrase gur charaṇī on Ang 26 of the Guru Granth Sahib. Name lists explain the whole in several ways, such as "victory at the feet" and "victorious at every step", so no single meaning is settled. It is given to both men and women. Charanjit Singh Channi was Chief Minister of Punjab in 2021–22.
