Hargun meaning
Hargun (ਹਰਗੁਣ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin, used for both girls and boys.
Guṇ, the virtues and praise, of Hari, God
Also used to mean: one with godly virtues
Hargun (ਹਰਗੁਣ) joins har(i), God, with guṇ. The Mahan Kosh gives guṇ a long list of senses, beginning with praise or a distinguishing attribute and including virtue and good conduct. The phrase ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ, God's virtues, is one of the most frequent in the Guru Granth Sahib, where devotees are urged again and again to sing them; on Ang 11 Guru Ram Das speaks of one who always tells of God's virtues. Sikh name lists explain Hargun as one who has godly virtues. It is a modern name given to both boys and girls.
