Prabhkirat meaning
Prabhkirat (ਪ੍ਰਭਕੀਰਤ) is a Sikh unisex name of Punjabi origin (from Sanskrit), used for both girls and boys.
Prabh (the Lord) joined with kīrat (praise, glory): praise of God
Prabhkirat (ਪ੍ਰਭਕੀਰਤ) joins prabh, the Lord, with kīrat. Written with a long ī, kīrat is the Sanskrit kīrti: glory, good name and praise. The Japji pairs it with jas, praise, at Ang 2. Read this way the name means "praise of God", or singing the Lord's glory. Some name lists explain it instead as devotion to God through honest work, reading the second part as kirat (ਕਿਰਤ), labour, which in Sikh teaching means earning an honest living. Both readings are rooted in Sikh vocabulary; the usual spelling points to praise. It is used for boys and girls.
