Prabhleen meaning
Prabhleen (ਪ੍ਰਭਲੀਨ) is a Sikh girl's name of Punjabi origin.
Absorbed (līn) in the Lord (Prabh)
Also used to mean: absorbed in God's love
Prabhleen (ਪ੍ਰਭਲੀਨ) is a modern compound of prabh and līn. Prabh is a short form of prabhu, which the Mahan Kosh gives as master, Lord and the Creator, and which the Guru Granth Sahib uses constantly for God (for example Ang 13). Līn, which the Mahan Kosh traces to Sanskrit laya, means merged, absorbed or immersed, as in the scriptural phrase ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਲੀਨ, "absorbed in the Lord's essence" (Ang 1428). Together the parts give "absorbed in the Lord". Sikh name lists usually render it as "absorbed in God's love", a devotional reading of the same idea. A few lists connect the first part with prabhā, light, but that does not match the Gurmukhi spelling. It is a girls' name, usually carried with Kaur.
