Prabhavati meaning
Prabhavati (प्रभावती) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Name of the sun's wife, Pradyumna's wife and others
Also used to mean: lustrous, radiant
Prabhavati (प्रभावती) joins prabhā, "light, radiance", with -vatī, "having", so it describes a woman full of light. Monier-Williams lists many bearers: the wife of the sun, a mother-goddess attending Skanda, an Apsaras, and Prabhāvatī the daughter of Vajranābha who married Krishna's son Pradyumna in the Harivaṃśa; the word also names a lute of Shiva's attendants, a metre and a river. A historical Prabhavatigupta, daughter of the Gupta emperor Chandragupta II, ruled the Vakataka kingdom as regent around 390 to 410. Name lists give "lustrous" or "radiant".
