Poorna meaning
Poorna (पूर्णा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin. By its first sound, पू, it is a Kanya rashi name (Hasta nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
Full, complete; the full digit of the moon
Poorna (पूर्णा) is the feminine of Sanskrit pūrṇa, "full, complete". Monier-Williams gives pūrṇa as filled or full, abundant, and fulfilled or accomplished. As a feminine noun, Pūrṇā is the name of the fifteenth digit of the moon, of the fifth, tenth and fifteenth days of the lunar fortnight, and of two rivers. The name carries a sense of wholeness and fulfilment. A well-known bearer is Malavath Purna of Telangana, who climbed Mount Everest in 2014 at the age of thirteen.
