Poongodi meaning
Poongodi (பூங்கொடி) is a Tamil girl's name.
Flowering creeper; in poetry, a woman
Poongodi (பூங்கொடி) is the Tamil pūṅkoṭi, a compound of pū, "flower", and koṭi, "creeper" or "vine". The Tamil Lexicon gives three senses: a creeper in bloom, a woman, and a beautiful flag or banner. The second sense is poetic, drawing on the familiar comparison of a graceful woman to a flowering vine, and the Lexicon cites the Tiruvācakam, the Śaiva hymns of Māṇikkavācakar, for it. The name is used mainly in Tamil families. The poet Mudiyarasan gave the same title, Poongodi, to a Tamil verse work published in 1964.
