Shenbagam meaning
Shenbagam (செண்பகம்) is a Tamil girl's name.
The champak tree and its fragrant flower
Also used to mean: champak flower
Shenbagam (செண்பகம்) is the Tamil name of the champak, the tree with golden, strongly scented flowers. The Tamil Lexicon of the University of Madras records ceṇpakam, from Sanskrit campaka, as Michelia champaca, and the older form caṇpakam appears in the Sangam anthology Paripāṭal among the fragrant blossoms of the hills. The champak is a temple flower, worn in the hair and offered in worship. Shenbagam is a traditional Tamil girls' name, also written Senbagam, and is the Tamil counterpart of the North Indian Champa.
