Shevanti meaning
Shevanti (शेवंती) is a Hindu girl's name of Marathi origin.
The chrysanthemum
Also used to mean: a flower
Shevanti (शेवंती) is the Marathi name of the chrysanthemum. Berntsen's Marathi dictionary glosses śevantī simply as chrysanthemum, and Marathi speakers use the word for the yellow and white chrysanthemums sold in heaps in the winter flower markets and strung into garlands and hair-gajras. Some Sanskrit word lists use the related form sevantī for a white rose instead. As a girls' name Shevanti belongs to the older Marathi tradition of flower names, alongside Jui, Jaai, Aboli and Sayali.
