Oviya meaning
Oviya (ஓவியா) is a Tamil girl's name.
From ōviyam: a picture or painting; also beauty
Also used to mean: artist
Oviya (ஓவியா) is a modern Tamil girls' name built on ōviyam, which the Tamil Lexicon of the University of Madras defines as a picture or portrait, the art of painting, and beauty or elegance. The final -ā is a modern naming ending, so Oviya is not itself a dictionary headword. Name lists give Oviya as "painting", "beautiful drawing" or "artist". The last of these goes a step beyond the dictionary, which describes the picture and its beauty rather than the person who paints it. The masculine form Oviyan is also used. Like Malar and Nila, Oviya is a native Tamil word rather than a borrowing from Sanskrit, and it sounds the same in Tamil and English.
