Kalaimagal meaning
Kalaimagal (கலைமகள்) is a Tamil and Hindu girl's name.
Sarasvati, goddess of learning
Also used to mean: goddess Saraswati
Kalaimagal (கலைமகள்) is a Tamil name of Sarasvati, the goddess of learning and the arts. The Tamil Lexicon defines kalaimakaḷ simply as Sarasvati; the word joins kalai, which the Lexicon gives as the arts and sciences, learning and erudition, with makaḷ, "daughter" or "woman". Schools in Tamil Nadu still hold Kalaimagal festivals around Saraswati Puja. Kalaivani is another Tamil name for the same goddess.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Saraswati.
