Mangayarkarasi meaning
Mangayarkarasi (மங்கையர்க்கரசி) is a Tamil and Hindu girl's name.
Maṅkaiyar (women) joined with araci (queen): queen among women
Also used to mean: queen of women
Mangayarkarasi (மங்கையர்க்கரசி) joins maṅkaiyar, "women", with araci, "queen", to mean "queen among women". The Tamil Lexicon gives maṅkai as a woman and araci as a queen, the feminine of aracaṉ, "king". The name belongs to Mangayarkkarasiyar, a Chola princess who became queen of the Pandya king Nedumaran in Madurai and is honoured as one of the sixty-three Shaiva saints; tradition credits her with bringing the child-saint Sambandar to Madurai. The shorter Mangai and Arasi come from the same words.
