Umika meaning
Umika (उमिका) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin (modern formation). By its first sound, उ, it is a Vrishabh rashi name (Krittika nakshatra) in the North Indian table.
A form of Umā, the goddess Pārvatī
Also used to mean: goddess parvati
Umika (उमिका) is a modern name formed from Umā with the affectionate suffix -ikā, so it reads as "little Uma". Monier-Williams gives Umā as the goddess Pārvatī, daughter of the Himalaya and wife of Śiva, a name found in the Harivaṃśa, Kālidāsa and the Rāmāyaṇa; the old lexicons also give umā as "splendour, light", "fame", "quiet" and "night". Name lists give Umika as "Goddess Parvati", which follows its root. Umika itself is a recent coinage, and a similar-sounding Japanese name, from umi, "sea", is unrelated.
