Kalyani meaning
Kalyani (कल्याणी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Beautiful, auspicious, fortunate (feminine); a raga
Also used to mean: blessed
Kalyani (कल्याणी) is the feminine of Sanskrit kalyāṇa, a word Monier-Williams defines as beautiful, agreeable, noble, excellent, auspicious and fortunate; as a noun kalyāṇa means good fortune, happiness and virtue. The dictionary records kalyāṇī itself as a rāgiṇī, a name of Dākṣāyaṇī, the goddess as Daksha's daughter, and the name of towns in the Deccan and Sri Lanka. Name lists give "auspicious", "beautiful" or "blessed", all close to the dictionary. Carnatic music has a much-loved raga called Kalyani, and the name is used in Maharashtra and the South.
