Disha meaning
Disha (दिशा) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Direction, region, quarter; point of the compass
Disha (दिशा) is Sanskrit diśā, "direction, region, quarter", a by-form of the older word diś. Monier-Williams describes diś as a point of the compass, usually the four cardinal directions, with the in-between, upward and downward directions sometimes added, and also as region, space, and a hint or instruction. The Viṣṇu Purāṇa names a Diśā as the wife of Rudra-Bhīma. Baby-name lists give the same plain meaning, "direction", and in Hindi disha is still the ordinary word for a direction, so the name is understood at once by Hindi speakers. It is short, has no awkward consonant clusters and sounds much the same in most Indian languages.
