Aashi meaning
Aashi (आशी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
A blessing, wish or prayer
Also used to mean: smile
Aashi (आशी) is usually traced to Sanskrit āśī, which Monier-Williams gives as another form of āśis, "a request, prayer, wish, blessing or benediction". The same word gives the more familiar āśīrvāda, a spoken blessing, and is related to the boys' name Ashish. Name lists give "blessing", which matches the dictionary, and also "smile", which we could not find in any Sanskrit source; it seems to be a modern meaning that has grown up around the name. For completeness, Sanskrit also has a second, unrelated āśī meaning a snake's fang, but the name is never meant in that sense. Aashi is also spelled Ashi.
