Mahadevi meaning
Mahadevi (महादेवी) is a Hindu girl's name of Sanskrit origin.
Great goddess; a name of Parvati and of Lakshmi; a chief queen
Mahadevi (महादेवी) is Sanskrit mahādevī, "the great goddess", the feminine counterpart of Mahādeva, a name of Shiva. Monier-Williams records it as a name of Shiva's wife Pārvatī and of Lakṣmī in the Mahabharata and Ramayana, and as the title of a king's chief queen. Name lists give it as great goddess, matching the dictionary. Two famous poets carried the name: Akka Mahadevi, the twelfth-century Kannada saint-poet of the Vachana movement, and Mahadevi Varma, a leading Hindi poet of the Chhayavad school. It is used in Karnataka and North India.
In Hindu tradition this is a name of Parvati.
