Mahpara meaning
Mahpara (ماہ پارہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Persian origin (Urdu usage).
A piece of the moon; lovely
Mahpara (ماہ پارہ) is a Persian compound of māh, "moon", and pāra, "piece". Steingass's dictionary records māh-pār or māh-pāra, "a piece of the moon", and defines it simply as lovely. In Urdu the phrase chānd kā ṭukṛā, "a piece of the moon", is a common way of praising a beautiful child, and Mahpara is its Persian equivalent. Name lists give the meaning as "piece of the moon", which matches, though one or two give "moonlight", which the dictionary does not support. The name is used by Muslim families in India and Pakistan.
