Tasneem meaning
Tasneem (تسنیم) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
A water or fountain in Paradise, flowing from above
Also used to mean: a spring in Paradise
Tasneem is the name of a spring of Paradise in the Quran: the drink of the righteous, the sura says, is 'mixed from Tasnīm, a spring from which those brought near will drink' (83:27–28). The word comes from the root s-n-m, whose basic idea is rising high, as in sanām, the hump of a camel or the highest part of anything. Lane's lexicon records the explanation that Tasnīm is so called because its water runs above the raised chambers and pavilions of Paradise, or comes down on its people from above. Baby-name lists give 'a spring in Paradise' or 'fountain of Paradise', in line with the dictionary. The name is used for girls in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
