Batool meaning
Batool (بتول) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
A woman devoted to God, detached from the world; title of Fatima
Also used to mean: pious, pure
Batool (بتول) is the Arabic word batūl, from the root b-t-l, "to cut off". Lane's lexicon explains it as a woman set apart: one who has withdrawn from worldly things and devoted herself to God. With the article, al-Batūl is a title of Mary, mother of Jesus, and of Fatima, the Prophet's daughter, honoured for her purity and devotion. The same root gives tabattal in the Quran (73:8), "devote yourself to Him completely". Sunni and Shia families in India both use the name, often in memory of Fatima.
