Inshirah meaning
Inshirah (انشراح) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Expansion of the breast with joy; cheerfulness, relief
Also used to mean: happiness, opening of the heart
Inshirah (انشراح) is Arabic inshirāḥ, from the root sh-r-ḥ, "to open or lay bare". Lane's lexicon gives the phrase inshiraḥa ṣadruhu, "his breast was expanded", meaning that a person's heart was opened with joy, or opened to accept Islam. Sura 94 of the Quran, which begins "Did We not expand your breast for you?", is often called al-Inshirāḥ. Name lists give "happiness", "relief" or "opening of the heart", all close to the dictionary sense. The same root gives sharḥ, "commentary".
