Ghaniya meaning
Ghaniya (غنیہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Free from want, rich; a woman needing no ornament
Also used to mean: self-sufficient
Ghaniya (غنیہ) comes from the Arabic root gh-n-y, "to be free from want". Lane's lexicon gives ghaniyy and ghānin as rich or free from want, and notes that al-Ghaniyy, "the Self-Sufficient", is one of the names of God. For the feminine ghāniya Lane records an older sense: a young woman so beautiful that she has no need of ornaments, or one content with her husband. Name lists give Ghaniya as "rich" or "self-sufficient". The Latin spelling can stand for either ghāniya or ghaniyya.
