Amatullah meaning
Amatullah (امۃ اللہ) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin.
Handmaid of God
Also used to mean: servant of Allah
Amatullah (امۃ اللہ) is Arabic amat Allāh, "handmaid of God", the feminine counterpart of Abdullah. Its first part is ama, which Lane's lexicon defines as a woman in servitude, the opposite of a free woman, and which, used of God, is best translated "handmaid"; he quotes amat Allāh as an example. Name lists give the meaning as "servant of Allah". The same pattern gives compound names such as Amatul Noor and Amatul Rahman, built like the boys' names Abdul Noor and Abdul Rahman.
