Asfiya meaning
Asfiya (اصفیا) is a Muslim girl's name of Arabic origin (Urdu usage).
The pure, the holy; sincere friends (plural of ṣafiyy)
Also used to mean: pure ones
Asfiya (اصفیا) is Arabic aṣfiyāʾ, the plural of ṣafiyy, from the root ṣ-f-w, "to be clear and pure", like clear water. Lane's lexicon gives ṣafiyy as a friend whose love is sincere, and Platts' Urdu dictionary records aṣfiyā as "the pure, the just, the holy; saints". Name lists give Asfiya as "pure" or "the pure ones", which fits these senses. Strictly it is a plural word, but in India and Pakistan it is used as a girl's name.
